Establish whether fractional dealing exists and how it works
Start by confirming the basic offering in writing. Look for fractional share terms in the broker's account agreement or a dedicated fractional shares disclosure for the entity serving your country. If instead you find only derivative products, note that trading a small CFD position is not the same as owning a fraction of a share: ownership rights, costs, and risks differ. Where fractional ownership is documented, read how fractions are held, whether they can be transferred to another broker, and how corporate actions such as dividends and splits are handled on partial units.
- Search the account agreement and disclosures of the specific Forex.com entity for your country for explicit fractional share terms.
- Do not treat small leveraged CFD positions as equivalent to fractional share ownership.
- Check whether fractional holdings can be transferred out or must be sold if you move brokers.
- Confirm how dividends and corporate actions are applied to fractional positions.
