Don't have money to invest? The most common question I receive from beginner investors is:
How do I make more money to invest?
It's a great question but I don't necessarily believe more money is the right answer. Smart investors pay themselves first because saving for investing & retirement should be your #1 financial priority.
Build the habit of paying yourself first before you think about earning more money.
If you don't pay yourself first, then making more money won't solve your financial problems. It could make them even worse.
Now, that I've gotten that out of the way, I'm going to share with you tons of easy money making ideas anyone can do. These won't be things that you need specialized knowledge for. This isn't rocket science. Many of these tips require only a few hours of training or a simple how-to course showing you everything step by step.
My Favorite Ways to Make Money
1. Start a Blog
Potential Earnings: $500 to $100,000 per month
Blogging is one of my favorite side hustles and I've been doing it on and off since 2006. I used my income from blogging to quit my day job as a web developer for a Washington, DC non-profit in 2008.
Since then, I use the power of blogging to travel the world, learn new languages, experience different cultures, and invest for my retirement with just an internet connection.
Blogging isn't a get rich quick scheme; This is a real business with income & expenses just like anything else.
2. Freelance Writing
Potential Earnings: $250 to $10,000 per month
If you have good writing skills then you can make good money as a freelance writer for blogs, media outlets and online websites. The demand for good freelance articles remains high as companies continue to spend tons of money on content marketing.
My favorite platform for finding freelance writing gigs is Upwork. You can also try finding jobs on these sites:
3. Online Language Tutor
Online language teachers can earn a comfortable living teaching languages to students via the internet. English is the most in-demand language in the world and over 2 billion people want to learn how to speak it. You can easily find an English teaching job online using sites like 51talk
4. Dog Walker
Pet owners spend lots of money hiring petsitters to walk their pets while they are at work or on vacation. You can find a job as a dog walker and earn decent money in your spare time.
