The new account must be a different type or titled differently from your existing account. In other words, if you already have a brokerge account, open another brokerage account under a different name or share joint ownership with a spouse/friend.
I know everyone is busy, so here’s what you need to know about the fine print:
- Offer not valid for 529s, IRA, or other tax-exempt accounts.
- Offer not valid for accounts using the Amerivest service.
- Account must remain open for 9 months, or TD Ameritrade will charge you the cost of the iPod. Ouch!
