Traffic
In my 2nd month of blogging, InvestorTrip.com had over 2,000 visitors and nearly 4,500 page views, which tells me that my slight blog tweaking back in early November has paid off.
In October, this blog had more visitors, nearly 150 more, but only 2,800 page views from that period.
Google Analytics is my preferred tracking software because it offers a wide range of data collections, along with cross segment performance. Once again, referrals have been my main source of visitors; Investor Trip was removed from Google’s index last month for reasons I do not know.
I expect organic conversion (search engine visitors) to increase once Google indexes my site. When listed, Google sent about 40 visitors to Investor Trip daily, back in mid-October. Now the amount of indexable content has quadrupled, and I am patiently waiting for the Google Bot to return. This should explode my monthly earnings since more new visitors will visit this investing blog.
My two main sources of blog income are Adsense and Commission Junction, and I’m still currently working on this best way to integrate both advertising programs. Here’s the earnings breakdown:
Earnings:
- Google Adsense: $25.55, up from $23.13 last month
- Commission Junction: $20, same as last month’s total
Monetization will only get better as this site produces more valuable content to readers. If you have any investing questions or want to see more posts of a certain type, zip me an e-mail.
Content and Site design are my two main issues right now, so making money has taken a backseat.
Problems I’ve Encountered this month:
- Due to a recent computer crash, I was forced to redesign the site once again and am currently searching for a web banner.
- It’s often hard to choose which content to post and when. From my experience, How to lists and stock analysis posts have performed the best.
Goals for December:
- Provide high quality original content
- Create an attractive web banner
- Tweak my Adsense ad locations for better click-through rates
- Connect with readers via e-mail and our Newsletter
- Consider posting Free full analysis stock reports
- Eclipse 2,500 visitors and 6,000 page views
