Goals for February: Technorati Top 100 Most Favorited
Written By TarikOne of my February goals is to make the Technorati Top 100 most favorited blogs.
Technorati keeps track of the blogosphere, and currently indexes over 66.6 million blogs. It ranks at #202 in Alexa traffic rankings, and is the best resource for locating and tracking blogs on the web.
I’ve decided to set bigger goals for this blog in February, and cracking the Technorati Top 100 is my first so far. Breaking into the top 100 would do a number of things to my blog:
- Increase its online exposure and reach in the blogosphere.
- Inform more readers about global investing ideas.
- Provide traffic gains for Investor Trip, blogs that link to Investor Trip, and blogs that receive links from Investor Trip.
- Be the first Financial blog to crack the Top 100!
If you add Investor Trip to your Technorati Favorites, leave your blog URL in the comments and I’ll return the favor. Even if you don’t have a blog, you can still setup an account at Technorati and start tracking your favorite blogs. Hopefully, Investor Trip is one of them!

Wow! You set your goals very high! I will add you as a favorite after I sign up for Technorati.
I only have one article on my blog so far, because I just started it this past weekend. Should I go ahead and claim my blog on Technorati or wait until I have more content?

Chris, you can claim your blog now, and focus on writing quality content.
Once you have about 10 solid blog posts, you can start building links to your blog.
Claim your blog on Technorati, so I can favorite it!

Hey mate!
Came across your blog by reading some interesting advice you were giving on DP.
I’ve been reading alot of blogs and feel it’s time to start blogging myself (check link).
I wasn’t aware that people adding a blog to their favourites would actually increase visibility…I may have to start doing this.

I just favorited your blog on Technorati because it can really increase your reach to new readers. Technorati has a popular blogs page where it lists the top 100 favorited blogs.
From an SEO standpoint, the page is a PR 1-2, so it’s also good for a quality backlink. Plus, it’s a high traffic page, which can do wonders for your page views.

Sean - Just added you to the favorites list. I enjoyed your post on Sirius-XM merger. Sirius may have overpayed for the acquisition of XM Satellite radio, but the move had to be made. Both companies offer comparable services to similar niche markets; they can take advantage of economies of scale and lessen the cost of satellite service.
Combine the two channel lineups, and you have DirectTV for radio. I should’ve bought SIRI stock at $3.50 when it bottomed.
